New Marketing Coup: Churches pay to run TV ads for "Passion"
http://www.passioncommercial.com/

No articles on this yet, just the site itself.

Saw one of the adverts here yesterday.

The fact that Gibson is getting others to pay for the "privilege" of marketing his controversial product is most certainly news and should be picked up by the media before too long.

1. What I find interesting
is that Father Andrew Greely noted that Jesus saying, "...forgive them, father, for they know not what they do...", was not even in the movie. To me that says volumes of the real intentions of Gibson. In fact, I have not heard anyone else comment on that

5. I thought Titheing was intended
to help the needy, sick and poor among us.
Not the Holy-wood elite.
Although Gibson clearly is sick.
Well, I guess one out of three aint bad...
Where do I send my support?
NOT!

6. So?
I hate to go against DU convention, but what's the big deal? A church is a private organization, the television stations they are paying are private organizations (mostly), and their speech certainly isn't directly advocating the immediate commission of a crime. So what's the big deal? It's just free speech, even though some might disagree with it.

8. Hey, it's a marketing coup... Remember, the rich only want what's
best for us all.

It's tasteless. Just because something is legal doesn't mean it is moral.

9. Churches are tax-free
They do lots of good work, but it appears that some of them have too much money.
