S.C.'s Wilson Rakes In $750,000 in Less Than 48 Hours; Opponent Tops $1 Million

Updated 7:50 p.m.
By Paul Kane
With a political arms race in full force, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) has raised almost $750,000 in less than 48 hours since his shout of "You lie!" to President Obama during the Wednesday address to Congress, almost matching the Internet-fueled haul of his likely Democratic opponent.

came directly from the insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

Elephants what you are referring to if it comes to pass, I think it will be a single and ultimately fatal death blow to Democracy in America.

Nothing GW and Darth Cheney did will come close to matching the adverse impact of the GOP implated Supremees majority overturning the long standing precedent that Corporations are not People and as such do not deserve nor may expect the same constitutional rights as People.

"Oops"

: as done by Jeff Goldblum in the movie "Independence Day" along side Will "Get Jiggy with It" Smith..

Everyone chant: "We The People", and grab your ankles cuz this one is gonna hurt.

6. The Palinites
The Palinites are calling Wilson a hero on Palin's FB page and they are promoting the Wilson donate link.
They are even calling for a Palin/Wilson ticket ROTFLMAO!!!

I'm sure the majority of the money Wilson is raking in is coming from the insurance companies- but the right-wing and Palinites are racking up the donor numbers.

We all need to donate to Rob Miller and help him win, let's not lose another one like we did when Bachmann won re-election even after her insane comments come to light.

soon as we heard of him. It was just too late in the election season. I'd love to know what he did with the money because he never put up a website to run against her in 2010, which he should have done right away. I checked a couple of months ago and there was still nothing. Now, though, he has a website up saying he is not running for 2010.

I don't much care. Tinklenberg was a conservative running as a Democrat. I'd almost rather have Bachman in Congress, disgracing Republicans in the eyes of everyone but their insane base, than a Blue Dog who will vote with the neocons nyway.

The "Rob Miller on the Issues" page website is not telling me much. http://www.robmiller2010.com/wordpress/?p=50 If Miller is a Blue Dog, I am not contributing this time.

9. This right here tells a lot I think:
http://www.robmiller2010.com/wordpress/?p=4

<snip>
Born and raised in South Carolina as the youngest son of a Navy Veteran, Rob learned the importance of hard work from a very early age. Facing staggering medical bills after his father passed away, 14-year old Rob went to work washing dishes to help support his family. Through hard work and lots of support from family and the community around them, Rob’s family weathered the financial storm.

<snip>

That tells me that he knows what it is like to have a family member die, to be burdened with huge medical bills, and to have to work menial, low-paying jobs to make ends meet.

He's likely to be more Progressive because of that.

10. He withdrew (under pressure). There will be a much
stronger candidate challenging Bachmann in 2010, MN State Senator Tarryl Clark.

20. They are EXACTLY the same abusive animals that started appearing at her rallies.
These are the same frothing racist pigs that even the McCain campaign had to distance themselves from. This is the same formula. These are the brownshirts.. and they are the future of the RNC. They will use these unstable paranoid racists and pro-lifers as long as they need them, even if they destroy our Country in the process.

They will stop at nothing to overthrow this Administration, by any means necessary. What you are seeing is no less that the beginning of another Civil War, only this time it's going to be Left vs Right, instead of North vs South.

17. I have an idea...
If a person wants to donate to a politician, that person needs to live in the politician's district. In other words, ban out-of-district donations.

Yes? No?

22. Wilson campaign: Fundraising breaks $1 million, passes Miller
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 03:24 PM by totodeinhere
A source on Rep. Joe Wilson's campaign says his fundraising has broken $1 million -- and surpassed that of his Democratic rival, Rob Miller -- since his outburst of "You lie!" during President Obama's address to Congress Wednesday.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0909/Wilson_campaign_Fundraising_breaks_1_million_passes_Miller.html

Just like I predicted in a previous post, Wilson is the new darling of the right wing lunatic fringe. Maybe it will be Palin/Wilson in 2012. LOL.

(Edited for typo.)

23. it would be Politico.com to report this ...
:puke: I'd bet good money that Wilson's donations are "a much higher amount" per doner, i.e., many corporate oriented "individual" donations.

26. A congressional investigation into the donors seems in order.
I don't trust this report of so much $ to Wilson, I'd be willing to bet this is not really donations from SC residents.
SC residents don't have that kind of $ to throw around.

This is dirty $.
