Gay Bishop ready to officially take over

CONCORD, New Hampshire (AP) -- More than six months after his confirmation rocked the U.S. branch of the Anglican Church, openly gay Bishop V. Gene Robinson is poised to take control of the New Hampshire diocese Sunday.

Robinson assumes full leadership in a ceremony known as investiture -- a ceremonial passage of leadership from departing Bishop Douglas Theuner.

"It's a family time for the diocese. It's a time to give thanks and a time to welcome Gene to his new role," said the Rev. Hays Junkin, who will open the sanctuary door at St. Paul's Church when Robinson knocks at the start of the service.

Other than the fact that he is the first openly gay bishop.Saw him last night on 60 Minutes & my jaw dropped! WOW!I respect this man SO MUCH after seeing that interview!IMO, this man gets it.He understands that Christ loves EVERYONE!I wish I lived near him.I would go to church 5 times a week if there was a man like this in my church!

Imagine that, meeting a TRUE christian who does not judge or think he's above the law! This man has won my respect & he deserves all the happiness in the world!
