Former U.S. anti-drug official's arrest 'a complete shock'

Reporting from Washington - As a high-ranking U.S. anti-drug official, Richard Padilla Cramer held front-line posts in the war on Mexico's murderous cartels. He led an office of two dozen agents in Arizona and was the attache for Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Guadalajara.

While in Mexico, however, Cramer also served as a secret ally of drug lords, according to federal investigators.

Cramer allegedly advised traffickers on law enforcement tactics and pulled secret files to help them identify turncoats. He charged $2,000 for a Drug Enforcement Administration document that was sent to a suspect in Miami by e-mail in August, authorities said.

"Cramer was responsible for advising the how U.S. law enforcement works with warrants and record checks as well as how DEA conducts investigations to include 'flipping subjects,' " or recruiting informants, a criminal complaint says.

This is too important an issue to have some fuckwit double agent aiding the bad guys and outing the good guys.

Honestly this guy, our guy, is no doubt responsible for the deaths of scores of Mexican police officers.

This is an example of how incompetent hiring practices and lack of internal checks can completely destroy a law enforcement organization.

This is why all federal law enforcement, defense, and intelligence personnel who retire should be cut off from those that they worked with.

This war on drugs has corrupted everyone it touches.
Just the fact that it continues in the face of abject failure proves that point.

Documents paint picture of a good agent that went bad

.....Until he retired, Padilla Cramer led an illustrious career in law enforcement in Southern Arizona. Before taking over the ICE office in Nogales, Padilla Cramer worked in internal affairs for ICE and once taught ethics courses at the El Paso Intelligence Center, say law enforcement agents contacted for this story. Sources within Homeland Security say Padilla hired two agents to work alongside him in internal affairs.

Hmmm. Let me think.

One has to assume that bribery is a BIG part of it. Politicians routinely sell out for relatively small sums. Spiro Agnew was a series of small bribes eventually totaling about $100,000. I believe they were from local contractors. Jefferson in LA was also low six figures over one deal in Africa.

The amount of money available to bribe politicians, cops, etc. is many orders of magnitude greater than local Maryland contractors (Agnew) the amount of money at stake in the African deal, and just about every other deal that politicians accept bribes for. There is no doubt the bribes are offered. Does anyone think that politicians are too honorable to accept them?

First he wondered why Cramer would drop a $150,000 a year job with the feds to take a $30,000 per year job as a county detention officer but found nothing suspicious.

Now he wants to know why Cramer flipped to the other side.

DEA and CIA found out to be narco trafficking mafias. Who could have guessed!!! The horror, the horror!!!
