President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize win mocked in GOP fundraising letter
Source: NY Daily News

The GOP is using President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize as a fundraising tool, by mocking the award in a send-money letter to Republicans.

Russia's president congratulated Obama on Saturday for the surprising honor, and even Cold War foe Fidel Castro said he was happy for him.

But Republican National Committee head Michael Steele is bristling with outrage, saying in a letter that Obama won the prize "for awesomeness."

It shows "how meaningless a once honorable and respected award has become," he wrote, asking for contributions of $25 to $1,000 for the RNC.

The Nobel committee's selection of Obama has been criticized, with some saying he hasn't been in office long enough or accomplished enough yet.

These are the cretins who wasted taxpayer dollars re-wording the Congressional Cafeteria Menu when their beloved Dimson declared war on Iraq - which was based on lies - renaming french fries ~ "Freedom Fries"

Someone needs to show them the door and tell them that they should find a country made only of buffoons and fools - there they will be most at home and will be easily identifiable for the rest of civilization.

1. Last week Rush was laughing...
Rush was bragging about the world rejecting Obama and that is why the right wing nuts were so happy to see the USA lose the Olympics.
Now this week Obama got something bigger than the Olympics and the right wing nuts are going balistic....

2. Keep it up, dickwads. You might want to read up on the fate of the Know-Nothing Party . . .
After it reached its heights of glory in 1856 by having its retread candidate Millard Fillmore beaten by James Buchanan (widely regarded as the worst president ever, even given recent stiff competition for that honor).

Just sayin'.

4. They have achieved a Zen-like state of stupidity.....
Heart wrenching and yet strangely beautiful all at once...like snowflakes falling in a cedar forest upon a bed of whoopee cushions and fake Groucho noses...

I personally want to see how far down the hole they are going to go.

6. your prose reminded me of Scooter's coded message to Judith Miller (former mole at the NYT)
"You went into jail in the summer. It is fall now. You will have stories to cover -- Iraqi elections and suicide bombers, biological threats and the Iranian nuclear program. Out west, where you vacation, the aspens will already be turning. They turn in clusters, because their roots connect them. Come back to work -- to life."

these folks are nuts

7. Yeah, I remember that! Someone should make a compilation video with...
all the stupid crap these people say and have nature scenes and Kitaro playing in the background. Funny like Jack Handy, but terrifying because 20% of the people in our country look to these people as intellectual superiors.

In fact, I think I'm going to start that up this week!

Go, go, gadget Adobe Premiere!

5. The GOP just doesn't get it. This is why they will lose again in 2010.
They are still making this all about Obama and getting all hissy over just that.

The point that they are missing completely is that they have offered nothing substantial, unless you believe that hate and fear pass for substance, and unless they start to craft some really meaningful legislation then they will be out in the cold again.

Frankly, I hope they keep to this plan until the mid terms.

14. It's sad that the GOP can't run on the merits of their policy
That they have to resort to character assassination because their own people are worthless assholes.

22. They have merits?
Their policy is "government money only for the military." And, as our beautiful Floridian Democrat pointed out, "Either don't get sick or die quickly."

(Whodda thunk a Congressional Rep from Florida would be the one to speak truth to the "powerless" minority?)

18. Once again, the right chicken wing "whinos" BSing over Obama's Nobel Prize winning!
They need to stop hating and congratulate (whatever, they NEVER will!). The just want Obama's money from his award since he's giving it to charity. But, they aren't getting shit from him.

19. It shows "how meaningless a once honorable and respected party has become," he wrote,
Steele then revealed that he is changing parties, going with the winners.

20. Republicons = no class, no honor
Two family Relations who have been lifelong Republicons have, over the last three months, renounced and denounced the party and crossed over.

If the Republicons lost these two guys, then they are losing BIG all over these United States.

of Dick Cheney and keep alienating the sane folk. Heck, even Olympia Snowe says she doesn't feel a part of Republican ideals anymore. (Keep saying that, too, Olympia. That will help elect a Democrat to take your seat.)

The Party of saying no to everything that benefits human beings, of denying prejudices, of blind partisanship and of religious fanaticism (feigned or real). Maybe they'd be more at home in Iran.

25. What was Steele thinking?
What was Michael Steele thinking when he wrote wrote “Democrats and their international leftist allies want America made subservient to the agenda of global redistribution and control. And truly patriotic Americans like you and our Republican Party are the only thing standing in their way.” Here’s my guess (in verse):

It’s too bad Obama won the Nobel Prize.
There must be an angle we can devise.
How about “Democrats and their international leftist allies”
(Foreigners are easy to criticize).

The bad guys want “global redistribution and control” --
Is that a high enough level of vitriol?
Maybe not – let’s take it up another level
(After all, we are locked in combat with the devil).

Dems and international lefties want “America made subservient” --
There, that ought to cause some discontent.
For people who fear international encroaching,
They can already hear black helicopters approaching.

But “truly patriotic Americans like you” will save the day,
By donating $25-$1000 without delay
We can make those lefties pay,
Because “you and our Republican Party are the only thing standing in their way.”

There, I think that’s pretty good.
Should I send it out? Yes, I should.
So what if there are crazies it might alarm.
After all, what could be the harm?
