Medical marijuana group barred from civic center
Source: Billings Gazette

GREAT FALLS - A group that helps people sign up for medical marijuana cards is no longer welcome at the Great Falls Civic Center after the city complained of people smoking weed in and near the building.

Last week the Montana Caregivers Network used the Civic Center for an event where people could meet with a doctor, who could then certify the patient had a condition that warranted a state-issued medical marijuana card. But the city canceled its contract for upcoming events next week.

<snip>
Jason Christ, director of the Montana Caregivers Network, said he thought the city would use the same card previously given to pay a deposit for next week. He said the cancellation letter from the city also complained that Montana Caregivers Network staff members put tacks in the wall and left food in the drain of a sink at the last event.

Christ said he believes the city was surprised by how many people attended the Oct. 23 event.

"I don't think they understood what was coming," he said.

2. they still don't get it
These bozos always want to complain when large numbers of people sign up for medical marijuana, which is proof itself of the vast need for this medicine you can grow yourself. These numbers verify the fact that many, many people have been self-medicating with cannabis because they know it works: young women & men learn to smoke it to relieve menstrual cramps or migraines, depression or ADHD or any other number of issues. It is and always has been self medication. Once the newest cancer research becomes widely understood this issue is going to blow right open.

Say it loud, say it proud: cannabis is good for you!

15. Oh, and I'm sure that the air was
just thick with marijuana smoke. People were choking! Dying! LOL

That's a stupid argument and always has been.

6. DROOL
Drool , slobber, slobber. Me Want.
But on a serious note: Nobody wants marijuana legalized or decriminalized more than me, but smoking it openly in public venues just adds fuel to the naysayers arguments against. Out of sight out of mind keeps a segment of the uncaring populous just that, they don't really care one way or the other. Shoving it in their faces, exposing them or their children to it just gives them a reason to take a side. But then I am against having to walk through somebody's cigarette smoke.
And before somebody argues the point, even if one uses it for medical reasons they can surely go without their dosage for a short time, until they get home or in a private vehicle or whatever.

7. Magnificent
I have to compliment whoever cultivated that! I never have accepted that there is legitimacy to
making marijuana illegal.

I have also posed this question to many cops and people who are against the legalization of marijuana

"What does the government not like about smoking marijuana?" What is the bad thing? Why don't they
want you to think or feel that way?

Anyway...check this out for a legal high that is fun

14. reminds me of when I as a kid asked my dad why it was illegal
he said, in effect, that it was because everybody would be too high to work and the country would fall into ruin. :D

now, half a century later, he knows I'm a total pothead and agrees it's ridiculous for it to be illegal. He even admitted to trying it in the 70s (also a time when he grew his hair a little long for a short period), but didn't feel much.
