Russian Inventor Patents Space-Ads Device
MOSCOW -- Orion, the Big Dipper and Andromeda could be joined in the heavens by ads for soft drinks and cigarettes if a Russian inventor's device catches on.

Alexander Lavrynov, a spacecraft designer, said he has patented a device for putting advertising into space that would be seen from Earth, Interfax news agency reported Wednesday.

"Space commercials could embrace huge areas and a colossal number of consumers," he said. "This would literally be intercontinental coverage."

This is one of the most god-awful ideas I've ever heard! Who wants to look up at the night sky, the most wonderful of all sights, to see an ad for Coke blotting out the rest of infinity?

It is making me sick just thinking about it...

13. You said it. Only PKD could up with something like this.
Well, he and Republicans.

I cannot fucking believe this. They are going to start putting advertising on the insides of caskets. You will never be able to get away from that shit even if you die.

8. this is not new news
awhile back (couple of years ago)
there was an American company
that wanted to do the same thing
but they wanted to put GIANT MYLAR thingys up there
that could be seen
even if you wer ein the middle of the &*%^n Sahara desert

then there was some talk
of a company that would be formed
solely to shoot the damed things down
