Navy chief's car attacked - Nigeria
Lagos - Gunmen in Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos have attacked the official car of Nigeria's naval chief of staff, Vice Admiral Samuel Afolayan, killing his driver, navy and police officials said on Thursday.

Afolayan was not in the car during last week's attack, they said, but the ambush has fuelled already feverish concerns about a spate of high-profile armed attacks which has rocked Nigeria ahead of this month's local elections.

"The driver was returning from an official assignment in Ikeja when he ran into a gang of robbers who shot him dead," navy spokesperson Captain Sinefi Hungiapuko said.

Should his title be ExxonMobil Chief to give clarity to the story?
