Pentagon refers Halliburton probe to Justice Dept.
http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-ushall0312,0,3551865.story?coll=ny-nationalnews-headlines

Washington -- The Pentagon has referred allegations that Halliburton Corp., the largest private contractor in Iraq, overcharged on a fuel contract to the Justice Department for a possible criminal or civil investigation, congressional Democrats said Thursday.

The referral followed a critical December report by Pentagon auditors that found that the KBR division of Halliburton had overcharged $61 million through last September on the contract to provide gasoline in Iraq and a subsequent inspector general probe.

And it comes on the heels of a Jan. 13 Pentagon audit released Thursday that found KBR cost estimates for subcontractors for a $2.7-billion contract were "inadequate," as well as systemic and "significant deficiencies."

"These audits are a scathing indictment of Halliburton," said Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), the ranking Democrat on the House Government Reform Committee and an outspoken critic of the Houston-based oil services firm led from 1995 to 2000 by Vice President Dick Cheney.

4. But isn't Comey running Justice right now?
And didn't Comey appoint Fitzgerald?

I think we may see some actual justice out of the Justice Dept, at least while Ashcroft is in intensive care.

5. Yes, this is good news
I believe there are true patriots in all facets of the government right now, willing to fight the criminals who are stealing our country. Even in Ashcroft's DOJ.

6. That's what Wilson kept saying, back in August
He said he had faith in the professionals at Justice to do the right thing, because they are professionals, not politicos.

2. Whoops,...hey, Rummy and Cheney,...has your OSP lost control?
Better whip that big huge beaucractic organization in the butt, quick!!! Or,...are they bigger than just you few "extremists",...and determined to serve something more noble than your greedy, powerset selves? In case you are reading and wondering who that would be, I will tell you: the American people who they really love and honor and serve. Unlike you, who shame our people, our nation, our values and our flag.

3. Inquiring Minds want to know.....FREEPER ANALYSIS
How concerned are the 'conservatives' about Halliburton corruption??

Read on if you've got a strong stomache...

To: NormsRevenge
Halliburton's failure to reveal it fired two subcontractors responsible for $1 billion worth of food service to American forces, Waxman's memo said.
Well, FGS, we here at FR knew; how could they not know?

I swear, they are coming at Bush from every single angle.

We are witnessing an assault on our form of government unlike any seen before, imo.

The sheer magnitude of the left's attacks, a co-production of elites and the mass media, is indicative of how committed they are to winning at any cost.

They do not care one bit about the future, they are willing to sacrifice all for power now. Their lack of vision, or anything approaching it, will be their undoing , in the end.

Yeah, right. I'll bet Waxman's figures he gives to Congress to get his staff budget are perfect.

We always like to look and see how far into the articles this phrase appears. Then we highlight it and pass it around.

10. Why do these people worship corruption? Do they have a lot of stock
in Halliburton?, Brown and Root?, Fascists R Us?
Even if you only watch Faux 24/7, it's clear that Halliburton is ripping us off to a magnificent degree. Don't they want to keep their hard-earned money working for them instead of for a corporation that is giving absolutely NOTHING back to them?

12. They should familiarize themselves with the father of modern fascism,
Mussolini,...who equated fascism with corporatism,...one in the same. Do the freepers get that? Or are they, as all past despots have always been,...too self-absorbed/involved/serving?

Let's divide the world between the "freepers" and the rest of us,...with an impenetrable barrior that will ensure no violation of "space". What would happen?

The "freepers" would want to take over our space,...is my first thought. And, I'll bet they are freakin' that we would take over their space. But, frankly,...I'd be happy to stay away from them so long as they stay away from me *LOL*,...unless they change their minds are willing to share their life instead of being so righteous *smile*.

11. The JDs role is to rubber stamp them with "Cleared of all wrong-doing
for all time, or until the US treasury is entirely looted and the world's oil is all ours, whichever comes first."
