Broward judge refuses to let conservative group intervene in gay marriage case

A conservative group unsuccessfully attempted Thursday to jump into the legal fray over a court challenge to the Florida law forbidding same-sex marriage.

Liberty Counsel had sought to make arguments defending the law on behalf of its members and Holmes County Clerk of Courts Cody Taylor, who is opposed to same-sex marriage.

Eade ruled if he allowed Liberty Counsel to intervene in the lawsuit, it would open the floodgates to other parties that would want to get involved.
