Ex-archbishop sentenced in Argentina over sex abuse

A former Roman Catholic archbishop in Argentina been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually abusing a young seminarian while still in office.

Edgardo Storni, 73, was in charge of the archdiocese of Santa Fe when he abused the male student in 1992.

He will serve his sentence under house arrest because of his age, however his lawyers say he will appeal.

He is the fourth priest in Argentina to be convicted of sex crimes.

1. he should go to jail regardless...however..this is a good start.
Time to throw the book at them AND to the Catholic Church and any other Church that have been covering these crimes against the most innocent and vulnerable souls of children.
Would the world allow a pedophile ring to stay open so long after so many crimes were revealed? I think not..but because they hide behind God this covering up continues to this day.

2. It is good to see South America is making a start
I can't imagine how many kids have been preyed upon by the Priesthood in South American countries, where the Catholic Church holds such power and prestige.
