Kennedy criticizes Bush "credibility gap"
Kennedy criticizes Bush "credibility gap"

By Lolita C. Baldor

March 13, 2004 | WASHINGTON -- Sen. Edward M. Kennedy said Saturday the Bush administration has a "widening credibility gap" between what it tells the American people and the facts.

In the weekly Democratic radio address, Kennedy said the administration's assurances on the economy, education, health care and the war in Iraq don't match the truth.

During Bush's three years in office, "we have seen a widening credibility gap between what the administration says and what it does," said Kennedy, D-Mass.

"Facts don't lie," he said. "The Bush administration and the Republican Congress are giving schools only two-thirds of the funds they were promised" by the No Child Left Behind Act."

1. Tehran Times: U.S. Unloading WMD in Iraq?
Connecticut journalist Marie Coady incredulously reported this to
SPJ-L. To see the full story, go to
http://www.tehrantimes.com/archives.asp and search for March 13, 2004.
I think that journalists should do their best to check out the
accusation. If it's a fake, no Pulitzer, but a good example of how far
the enemies of freedom will go to trash the United States. If true....

U.S. Unloading WMD in Iraq

Excerpts

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) – Over the past few days, there have been
reports that U.S. forces have unloaded a large cargo of parts for
constructing long-range missiles and weapons of mass destruction (WMD)
in the southern ports of Iraq.

The source said that in order to avoid suspicion, ordinary cargo ships
were used to download the cargo, which consisted of weapons produced in
the 1980s and 1990s.

"Most of these weapons are of Eastern European origin and some parts are
from the former Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc. The U.S. obtained
them through confiscations during sales of banned arms over the past two
decades," he said.

7. Okay guys, BATTLE STATIONS! First thing tomorrow morning:
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO! See my sig line.

Then, go to www.takebackthemedia.com and get some email addresses and mail addresses for some of our "lovely" media outlets. We CANNOT let this story die. Even if it's a dead-end, it needs to be out there. Just like the "they'll pull Osama out of the hat to help bush get elected" rumor is all over the place (callers have been calling in about that on a couple of TV talk shows I've seen, including Larry King). THIS IS MONSTROUSLY IMPORTANT if we're to take the teeth out of the inevitable "October Surprise." If it's already whispered, and a lot of people have heard of this, even if it's not considered credible, the thought has still been planted. The seed of doubt has still been planted. Suspicion has still been provoked. It's like asking any guy when he stopped beating his wife. He didn't ever do it at all, of course, but now that suspicion is out there and he has to respond to it. It's like telling someone "don't think of pink elephants." Guess what they immediately do? SEEDS OF DOUBT, folks. SEEDS OF DOUBT. The more are out there, the better for us in November.

5. I was so surprised last week
when I read that BeelzeBush's numbers are down, in fact the lowest of his "career", and it's because the Dems have been relentless in their barrage of criticism.

The Yahoo article said that apparently the non-stop barrage has had an effect of turning public perception against him!

What a surprise. And I thought it was just nothing more than shouting against the wind.

A better scenario would be the relentless pounding of the waves on rock. It gradually wears it down.

6. Bias Whore Media should call it 'Dems pointing out the truth' instead of
'barrage of criticism.' And where are the Media Whores who should be investigating and reporting the truth? Liberalism means Honesty! Conservatism means Crook!
