Iran sentences 11 demonstrators to death
Source: CNN

Tehran, Iran (CNN) -- Tehran's Revolutionary Court sentenced 11 people to death after convicting them of participating in post-election riots, state media reported Thursday.

Two of the sentences have been carried out; the rest are under appeal, the Iranian Students News Agency said, quoting a court official.

These are the first executions known to be related to the post-election violence that erupted across Iran in June and has continued since, Amnesty International said in a statement condemning the hangings.

1. To me, it says to the population that if you are driven to demonstrate ... burn the place down.
kill the police and any other official. Since the government if left intact will kill you anyway.

3. I don't normally advocate violence, but I agree with this.
Their own government is out to kill them.

5. Iranians are good at smuggling weapons in the middle east
They should start keeping those weapons and fight for their own freedom. It's a shame to see protestors being
executed, without a fight. They gave their lives for others freedom, let the others now take up the battle, so they don't die in vain.

2. Convicted of "waging war against God".
:wow:

You'd think that God, being a supreme being and omnipotent and the ruler of the universe and all, would be able to defend Himself against a measly demonstrator or two.

This sounds like some shit that Pat Robertson would come up with.

4. another round of anti-govt demonstrations coming
on February 11 Iranians will again be taking to the streets to protest their government. Once again a brutal crack down can be expected from the authorities. Expect more violence and death in the streets of Tehran.

I think the Iranian government is trying their best to intimidate people ahead of Feb. 11 with these executions and death sentences

7. Demonstrations don't cut it anymore
They only lead to executions, it time to get their freedom back from oppressive military dictatorship.
They should start getting rid of leadership, for every one executed, someone pays.
