Committee Rejects Bills To Reverse (New Hampshire) Same-Sex Marriage Law
Source: WMUR

CONCORD, N.H. -- A House committee has recommended that two bills attempting to reverse New Hampshire's same-sex marriage law be killed.

One bill called for the repeal of the same-sex marriage law, while the other called for a public vote on the matter.

By a margin of 2-1, members of the House Judiciary Committee voted to kill both measures.

3. What Happened to NH?
That's not the state I left in 1996! (Not that I would have stayed anyway, but...)

5. Craig Benson
Pretty well poisoned the well for conservatives here - as did stuffed shirts like Jeb Bradley and Charlie Bass.
And we'll take tourists from ANYWHERE - gay marrige is good for business, and they smell better than the Hell's Angels who are moving into the Wiers.

8. He's not running for re-election
Congressman Paul Hodes is the almost certain Democratic candidate. The Republicans have a potentially nasty primary between former attorney general/GOP chosen one Kelly Ayotte, pro-life conservative lawyer Ovide Lamontagne, millionaire bidnessman Bill Binnie, and a couple of other folks.

10. Actually, he's in his early 50s
He ran for Congress and Governor before he hit 40, so it seems like he has been around forever.

11. Odious has never done well at the polls
Kelly Ayotte is most likely - but she's parroting the Republican line, word for word. Craig Benson was a bidnessman, too, FWIW.

7. *w00tles*
Good news, finally, on the gay marriage front--it's been a series of disappointments for a while.

12. Good. The issue of repeal never should have come up in the first place.

13. You would've seen me beating the pavement hard if they tried this
NH is getting (slowly) more and more blue as time goes on.
