Nevada Judge Tosses Out (Gennifer) Flowers Defamation Suit
LAS VEGAS (AP) - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit accusing James Carville and George Stephanopoulos of defaming Gennifer Flowers when they commented on claims by Flowers that she had an affair with Bill Clinton.

U.S. District Judge Philip M. Pro ruled that no reasonable jury could find "clear and convincing evidence" that Stephanopoulos and Carville acted with malice when they discussed audio tapes that Flowers said proved she had an affair with the former president. The two former Clinton advisers made their comments while being interviewed on talks shows in 1998 and 2000.

In his summary judgment issued March 8, Pro also ruled that Stephanopoulos' publisher, Little, Brown & Company didn't defame Flowers in Stephanopoulos' 1999 book, "All Too Human."

The Flowers lawsuit was filed by Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest group in Washington, D.C. Flowers was seeking unspecified punitive and compensatory damages.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said Tuesday that "we are considering an appeal."

1. the jury
also found that it would be nearly impossible to actually "defame" Ms. Flowers

2. And that should be that
Ms. Flowers: accept the judge's ruling and do not appeal. And appeal. And appeal. And appeal. This ruling must be respected. Not appealed.

3. She defamated her own character by admitting she had an affair
with a man that she KNEW was married. Bill Clinton was wrong for having affairs and so was Flowers. And we all need to remember that it's not just Democrats that have affairs, REPUBLICANS DO TOO! RE-ELECT A DEMOCRAT IN 2004!!!!

4. One time I saw that bimbo on a tv show (don't remember what it was)
singing the great Lenny Bruce's 'Since I Fell for You'. I almost died laughing.

Believe me, she disgraced herself more during that little performance than the rest of the people on this earth will ever do (collectively)in ten lifetimes. Talk about funny. It was worth watching just to learn what the opposite of talented is.

7. If you're going to say you had an affair in a hotel room...
make sure that hotel was built by the time you said the affair occurred.

8. Thanks for bringing up that salient point
A little investigative reporting would have poked a hundred holes in her "12-year affair" story-and only Lyons/Conason seem to have put the necessary footwork into it. She was living in Dallas for six of those twelve years. Damn! That Bill must have been quite a jogger! Wasn't the Jones lawsuit thrown out because Paula couldn't quite get the old time-line straight (saying she thought the harrassment happened between 1-4PM-still a large window-when it was documented that "Elvis" has left the building by 11:30? This sh*t makes my head explode.
