City of Beverly Hills says 'Miss Beverly Hills' is a fraud, disavows her stance on gay marriage

Lauren Ashley, a Miss California USA contestant and outspoken opponent of same-sex marriage, claims Beverly Hills as the city
she represents. Beverly Hills lays no claim to her whatsoever.

Quite the opposite. In a statement Wednesday, the city said it was shocked by Ashley's description of herself as "Miss Beverly Hills." The city "does not
sponsor a beauty pageant and has no association with Miss California USA," the statement said. "As such, there should be no individual claiming the title
of Miss Beverly Hills."

The city's statement said Ashley lives in Pasadena and "does not represent Beverly Hills in any capacity."

Ashley, 23, has been quoted extensively as saying same-sex marriage goes against God. She recently told news organizations that "in Leviticus it says,
'If man lies with mankind as he would lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death and their blood
shall be upon them.' The Bible is pretty black and white.

From the article their is a Miss Beverly Hills but the contest is in L.A. and run by a production company
the city of Beverly Hills is now seeking legal redress to stop them from using their name.

I think Ms. phony B.H. wanted to get some of that right wing fundy money and saw this as her
chance to do just that.

I mean, I wouldn't kick her out if I didn't know she was a fundie tool, but beauty contestants have a certain plastique perfect look to them. This one doesn't have that going on, speaking in the strict sense of what pageants want.

Just read the words and deeds and see if anything resonates with you as a goal or two for how you would like to live your life. And then, contemplate how they would have resonated two thousand years ago (more or less)in a land under the heel of Rome and its local puppets.

What better way to get your name splashed thru all the news then a stunt like this? For all we know, she probably has no issue with homosexuality but knows that talking negative about it ESPECIALLY in California, will get you headline news.

What a laugh. My wife at age 57½, after cancer and no artificial ingredients, is prettier, has a better figure and a MUCH less lame expression on her face. Since physical beauty seems to carry more weight in these phony "Miss" contests than most anywhere else, the last place a young woman like this should try to pull off this kind of a fraud is Beverly Hills, especially in a beauty contest that doesn't even exist.

I mean, it got Carrie Prejean a ton of publicity and a book deal. From the photo, she really doesn't look much like a future beauty pagaent queen - if anything she looks a bit dull.

But now she's being headline on all the news channels and blogged in the LA Times.

I really do suspect this is more a publicity stunt.

If the Miss Beverly Hills stunt failed her next step would have been to try out for Survivor.

She shouldn't be allowed to stand there and say the Bible says 'God' is against the gay... without being challenged that she is also then advocating that the Bible/'God' says that gays acting on their sexual preference should be put to death. Does she believe that any same-sex sexual act warrants death?

Even if you want to buy Leviticus whole, at least as it has come down to us, saying someone will die is not the same as as suggesting WE kill them. Not that I would not recommend buying Leviticus whole to begin with.
