Bush takes responsibility for claims
http://www.salon.com/news/wire/2003/07/30/bush_iraq/index.html

(snippy snippy)
"I take personal responsibility for everything I say, absolutely," the president said during an hour-long White House news conference where he sought to quell a controversy that has dogged his administration for weeks.

It was the first time he had specifically taken responsibility for the words. In the past, he sidestepped the question, taking responsibility only for his decisions.
(end snip)

1. I recognize all the words......
But when you put them together like that, they don't make sense.

3. I take responsibility
Edited on Wed Jul-30-03 01:34 PM by JackSwift
in a general sense for everything that I say, six months after I say it and only after scapegoating my entire staff one by one has failed. And by responsibility, that does not mean accepting any consequences, but rather I use responsibility in the "magical" and Republican sense of the word that means I absolve myself of all blame. Now watch this drive.

5. He takes responsibility? Great!
So when the articles of impeachment are brought, he won't be able to blame anyone else, right?

7. This isn't bush taking responsibility for ANYTHING. it's bush giving
lip service.

He's admitting nothing, and saying nothing. These folks are reading WAY too much into this.
