US rewards Pakistan with elite military status
The United States will reward Pakistan for its support in the war on terrorism with an elite military status despite concerns about nuclear proliferation, US Secretary of State Colin Powell revealed.

Musharraf must not read the papers either. I hope he enjoys his time as America's valued ally as much as Saddam Hussein did.

1. So nice to see we are trading arms more freely
to a country which pardoned the worst nuclear criminal in history. Woohoo go Bush.

3. rewarding the ISI?
this is insane! It's widely known that Pakistan's elite intelligence forces are in cahoots with Al Qaeda! We'd probably have Osama in custody if he weren't aided by the Pakistani military.

unbelievable.

5. Add in the $100,000 former ISI head Hameed Gul sent Mohammed Atta...
...and Pakistan starts to look awfully responsible for 9/11. Certainly more so than the hapless Taliban.

6. "Of course, they won't actually use those weapons"
India must be feeling a teensy bit jittery over this. It wasn't too long ago that millions of men were massed on both sides of the border, ready for a conflict. But hey -- when they had the chance to send Indian troops into Iraq to be part of Fearless Leaders Coalition, they declined, so therefore they must be punished for their naughtiness, and what better way than by arming their traditional enemy?

(BTW -- could you imagine what would have happened if India had been NUTS enough to send troops to Iraq? The mind reels.)

What will American corporations do if Pakistan kills the Indians they are outsourcing to?
