First 'JihadJane,' now Colorado woman held in death plot
Source: Washington Post

Federal officials confirmed Saturday that a second suburban American woman had been apprehended in connection with a plot to kill a Swedish artist who angered the Muslim world with a derogatory drawing of the prophet Mohammad.

But authorities cautioned that Jamie Paulin-Ramirez, a blond-haired mother, may have been motivated by love for an Algerian Muslim man rather than by terrorist urges when she traveled to Ireland for a rendezvous in September.

Paulin-Ramirez, 31, of suburban Denver, was taken into custody by Irish police last week on the same day that U.S. prosecutors unsealed a criminal indictment against another fair-haired American woman who allegedly used the Internet handle "JihadJane" to recruit people to further the plot.

The two apparently connected in online chat rooms, officials said Saturday, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation. But authorities think Colleen R. LaRose, also known as JihadJane, posed a greater danger.

LaRose, Mobley, whoever-the-hell they picked up last week in Karachi... I could've sworn there were some warrantless wiretaps that were supposed to keep us safe from domestic terrorists.

2. Not particularly.
I find the story engaging, but perhaps it's merely for the sake of the woman's little boy, who is also in Irish custody at the moment.

Irish police free 4 in alleged artist murder plot

DUBLIN (AP) -- Four people, including an American woman, arrested over an alleged plot to assassinate Swedish artist Lars Vilks have been freed without charge, but three others remain in custody, Irish police said Saturday.

Seven people - three Algerians, a Libyan, a Palestinian and a Croatian and the American woman, who is married to one of the Algerians - were arrested Tuesday in Ireland hours before U.S. authorities unveiled a terror indictment against a 46-year-old Philadelphia woman, Colleen LaRose.

In Leadville, Colorado, a woman identified the American woman who was released as her daughter, 31-year-old Jamie Paulin-Ramirez. Christine Mott said she had been informed of Paulin-Ramirez's arrest by the FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies.

4. Sharia Law can create serious Stockholm Syndrome in women.. links>>
Edited on Sat Mar-13-10 08:04 PM by sam sarrha
there ate 442 crimes against islam in one form of Sharia law, women are frequently cloistered in homes with no outside contact, or protection, in Shatia law thete is no penalty for beating or killing a wife, your children, or grand children. Sharia crimes can be charged and a death penalty issued and performed by any man, or the Virtue Police or issued by the court. if a woman is raped she cant report it or she can be charged with adultery and stoned to death. it could be a constant terrifying existance for many women.

there is a Fatwa for Nonie Darwish's head on a platter for telling secrets and leaving islam

read Nonie Darwish's book, absolutely fascinating, most informative biography i have ever read

some youtube videos.. of nonie darwish... Wafa Sultan is another fine x-muslim author with a Fatwa on her life, now an American citizen but still subject to Sharia law.

7. From a follow-up article, this quote from her mom is interesting:
>>Ms. Mott said she has been able to speak to her grandson on the phone in recent months and that he has sometimes said things that troubled her.

She said she told her daughter, “I am sick and tired of being told by this baby that Christians are going to burn in hell.”

According to Ms. Mott, Ms. Paulin-Ramirez replied, “We’re just teaching him the truth”<<

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/14/us/14terror.html

(Ms. Mott being her mom.) I can understand her frustration in hearing that, but yet, that's kinda sorta what many Christians teach within their own religious communities about gay people, Catholics, Protestants, Jews, atheists, muslims, buddhists, the hated minority of the week.

One likes to think that out of such sadness and bad things comes wisdom and perhaps more love and less hatred, all around.

11. Ms. Paulin-Ramirez sounds like she slipped through the cracks more than a little
...I'm no doctor, but this does not sound particularly normal:

Mr. Mott described himself as a Sunni Muslim who embraced Islam after his childhood in Detroit. He said that after 9/11, Ms. Paulin-Ramirez denounced him and all Muslims.

“She figured we were all killers and murderers,” Mr. Mott said.

But after her own her conversion last year, she denounced him again, he said, this time for not being Muslim enough because he did not pray openly and at appointed times.
