3 Boys Arrested in Plot to Shoot Classmate

FORSYTH, Mont. (AP) -- Two 8-year-old boys and a 11-year-old schoolmate were arrested after they buried a loaded handgun in a playground sandbox and plotted to shoot and stab a third-grade girl during recess, authorities said Thursday.

Sheriff Tim Fulton said the boys intended to harm the young girl because she had teased two of them.

The plot included a .22-caliber revolver, a knife and a box of bullets that were all hidden on the playground, authorities said.

The boys, whose names were not immediately released, apparently brought the weapons to school Wednesday morning, prosecutor Michael Hayworth said. The intent was to assault the girl over the recess hour that day, he said.

``From the interviews I don't believe that they fully comprehended the full significance of their actions,'' Hayworth said. ``But they understood that this was going to bring harm to her.''

How did they turn out like this? After all, we've been keeping them protected from the dangers of Janet Jackson's breast!

and other school shootings. Although these remember Columbine, recently it was in the news again and plastered all over the tube. A little kid seeing and hearing that a few dozen times...draw your own conclusion.

I want to know what kind of people raise children that would think to do something like this...and how the hell did these kids get firearms??? Clearly the adults in their life aren't very careful with their firearms and ammunition..

at how young these kids are! I cannot conceive of raising a child that would want to do these things. Whatever happened to Lincoln Logs and Legos?
