Al-Arabiya TV says cameraman killed, reporter wounded by US fire in Baghda
Edited on Thu Mar-18-04 03:58 PM by Barrett808
DUBAI (AFP) - Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel said night that its cameraman Ali Abdul Aziz was killed and its correspondent Ali al-Khatib seriously wounded by US fire in Baghdad.

Al-Arabiya news editor Salah Najm told AFP the channel would ask US authorities to investigate the incident.

"The car in which they were driving was clearly marked 'TV'. We will demand an investigation into the incident," Najm said.

Al-Arabiya reporter Hadeer al-Rubaie said from Baghdad that Abdul Aziz, an Iraqi, was shot dead and Khatib, also an Iraqi, critically injured when a team from the channel went to cover an attack on the Burj al-Hayat hotel in the Iraqi capital and US forces who cordoned off the area opened fire.
