Democratic offices in Wichita, elsewhere vandalized

Authorities in Wichita and some other cities across the country are investigating vandalism against Democratic offices, apparently in response to health care reform.

And on Monday, a former Alabama militia leader took credit for instigating the actions.

Mike Vanderboegh, of Pinson, Ala., former head of the Alabama Constitutional Militia, put out a call on Friday for modern "Sons of Liberty" to break the windows of Democratic Party offices nationwide in opposition to health care reform. Since then, vandals have struck several offices, including the Sedgwick County Democratic Party headquarters in Wichita.

"There's glass everywhere," said Lyndsay Stauble, executive director of the Sedgwick County Democratic Party. "A brick took out the whole floor-to-ceiling window and put a gouge in my desk."

Stauble said the brick, hurled through the window between Friday night and Saturday morning, had "some anti-Obama rhetoric" written on it.

I have shared before that one night after months of minor insults, graduating to outright major fag bashing, vandalism and finally attempting to burn my home with a cross(made from my own lumber no less) because I was out gay, not flaming but not hiding. Rock throwing vandalism and that night a rock through the front window with a note attached by string.."its bad enough that you faggots had to move in here now you have to bring in n***** to'(sic).
It took several shots from a 12gauge pump to get them to run away. The pigs wrote me a ticket for lettin off a fire arm in the city. A couple weeks later 12 undercover cops and the mayor raided my home claiming I had 5 lb of pot.
They have not changed since the time of Reconstruction, just found new ways to let it out and are looking for a way to install Nazi and KKK values.

In much of the country people would be shocked (SHOCKED) at the kind of behavior you've described. And the fact that it's been backed up by the force of local law enforcement is disgusting.

This is why Beck & the others are shouting "fire" in a crowded theater and should be curbed.

Funny (not ha ha funny, but really fucking sad and disgusting evil horrible kind of 'funny') how when Republicans ruled everything, there was almost no violence whatsoever by liberals against anything, but whenever anything pisses off the rightwing, there's violence against people, violence against buildings, and violence against organizations.

PLEASANT RIDGE – Someone reportedly threw a fist-sized rock through the front window of the Hamilton County Democratic Party headquarters Sunday night after Congress passed the landmark health insurance overhaul.

Caleb Faux, the party’s executive director, finds it hard to believe the incident wasn’t related to the legislation’s passing.

“I have to assume that it did,” Faux said. “We’ve been here for three years and we’ve never had an incident of that kind.”

According to Faux, the rock didn’t shatter the window, which is made of heavy plate glass. It did, however, make a hole the size of a half dollar coin and crack the glass.

Faux estimates the window will cost several hundred dollars to replace. He had not yet filed a police report.

Faux connected the rock-tossing with the provocative language associated with the healthcare bill.

I don't think that the people performing them realize that they are committing violence against property to gain a political end. They wouldn't use that kind of language. But that is what they are doing, and that is just as much terrorism as going into a scientific laboratory and destroying equipment, cages and freeing animals. And I believe that those acts in a laboratory are considered to be terrorist acts now. Am I wrong?
