Officials unsure if body is missing woman's

Divers pulled a woman's body from the Russian River on Thursday afternoon, a short distance from the Odd Fellows Park home of the man charged with kidnapping and killing Michelle Johnson of Guerneville.

Sonoma County Sheriff Bill Cogbill said the body had yet to be identified.

But the search for the 32-year-old Johnson, last seen leaving a Guerneville bar five days ago, has increasingly focused on the Odd Fellows Park area since Tuesday night's arrest of Luke Clay Hasler, 34, of Guerneville.

Body ID'd as missing mom's

Update (11:35 A.M. PST): An autopsy was being performed today on Michelle Johnson, a 32-year-old mother whose body was pulled from the Russian River near Guerneville Thursday.

Johnson had been missing since she left a Guerneville bar early Sunday morning. Police have charged Luke Clay Hasler, a 34-year-old unemployed butcher, with her kidnapping and murder.

Sonoma County Sheriff Sgt. Steve Freitas said that Detective Joe Vetter discovered Johnson's body in two feet of water "pretty close" to Hasler's house in the Odd Fellows Park area around 4:30 p.m. The body was identified through fingerprints.

Autopsy results were expected later today.
