How The World Works
Goldman Sachs is very grateful
In a letter to shareholders, the company says it did nothing wrong, but thanks for all the help, everybody!

By Andrew Leonard
AP
Goldman Sachs 2009 quarterly profits.

Here's an abbreviated version of the eight-page letter to shareholders included in Goldman Sachs' 2009 Annual Report: Goldman didn't bet against its own clients, did nothing wrong with respect to AIG, took steps to limit compensation for its top executives, and "embraced new realities pertaining to regulation."

Oh, and "Goldman Sachs is grateful for the indispensable role governments played and we recognize that our firm and our shareholders benefited from it."

You are welcome! The American taxpayer is glad to be of service!

2. Goldman Sachs chief says 'we do God's work' as he defends the bank's mega profits.
08th November 2009
The boss of Goldman Sachs claimed yesterday that bankers were doing 'God's work'.

Lloyd Blankfein is the latest money man to defend bumper bank bonuses, suggesting a return to massive profits should be welcomed.

...He said modern banking performed a vital function and described himself as just a banker 'doing God's work'.

8. They should be grateful. No person or entity made out better as a result of
the economic meltdown, and they had a hand in causing it.

10. They are grateful to that asswipe Hank Paulson, former CEO of Sachs.
You need people like this on your side in order to pillage billions from Merkan taxpayers.

Halliburton is also grateful to former CEO Cheney and the billions he delivered to them.

11. Keep rubbing it in our faces, assholes.
Keep Robbing.

Keep Stealing.

Keep Pushing.

Keep Laughing.

And Keep Hoping.

That the Public doesn't EVER decide to push back.

Because if we ever do, you're going to find out all your profits are worthless.

I'll just leave it at that.

12. Their days are numbered

The one thing about that kind of evil smugness is that is never last.

The US bailed out AIG, if it hadn't, Goldman would have suffered a huge loss.

If the US government is eclipsed by its people,as it should be then Goldman will be out on a limb.

Justice will be served.
