Stormy won't challenge Vitter
Source: The Dead Pelican

New Orleans, LA – Today, Stormy Daniels issued the following statement announcing her decision on whether to run for United States Senate from Louisiana:

“Over the past year, since the inception of the “Draft Stormy” movement I have been fortunate and at times saddened to receive a crash education in our modern political system. On one hand I have had the pleasure to meet and talk with so many hardworking Louisianans and to hear first hand their hopes and concerns for a better country. The sincerity of the people I met from so many different walks of like has made a lasting impression on me.

“What has also made a lasting impression on me unfortunately is the reality of a political system that seems wired to ensure that the voices of these good people are never truly heard. And the sad fact the media and the political establishment in this country is set up in such a way to ensure that many of us are never given a chance to even try.

“This, over these months, I have been reminded of again and again.

1. She could have promised them nothing, and gave them everything.

2. Damn. I was really looking forward to that.
I would have offered to work for her, just for the sake of pouring fire ants on the heads of the Republicans.

4. as i said a year ago, she was NEVER challenging vitter, this was to help vitter
Edited on Thu Apr-15-10 12:45 PM by pitohui
by making vitter's opponents look like porn supporters and all-round general scumbags...

a very similar technique, if not the SAME technique, was nicely described in one of john grisham's recent novels, i believe it was "the appeal"

anyone who thinks stormy was sincere or that she was trying to hurt vitter is really extremely naive...i would love to know how much $$$ she has received under the table from vitter

5. Alas and Alack! I Really Hoped She'd Run!

Stormy probably would have been a better Senator than a lot of the ones the Rethugs put forth.

6. She's right about how the political system is wired. That is the big story in the OP.
The political system is wired in favor of incumbents of both major Parties and corporations and against challengers from the two major Parties and also against third Parties. Democratic and Republican incumbents, funded by corporations, have co-operated to ensure that.

As a result, the system works against having the voice of the people heard--except, of course, for those people who own the corporations. And not your little stockholder, either. The major owners and the folks who pull down that ridiculous compensation, including stock options.

That story about what Daniels discovered is so much bigger than Daniels v. Vitter and bigger than whatever Democrat runs against Vitter. But, it's not funny, like Vitter's diaper or Daniels' candidacy. And fixing it would take a lot more on our parts than simply posting about it.

So, let's just ignore it.

Daniels dropped out, huh? Guess Diaper Boy has a clear field now. LOL
