Halliburton CEO: Sees 'Plenty Of Work' In Iraq
Source: WSJ

Halliburton Co. (HAL) Chief Executive Dave Lesar said the company is in the process of building the first of several bases in Iraq to take advantage of the demand for oilfield services there.

"There's going to be plenty of work in Iraq. And believe me, all of the service companies will have opportunities there," Lesar said during a conference call to discuss the Halliburton's first-quarter earnings.

Halliburton has plans for a series of bases in Iraq and is in the process of securing land and facilities.

4. "We must educate this administration that it can't write hydrocarbons off."
says CEO DAvid Lesar.
While the WSJ provides no info unless you are subscriber, this article is quite telling about Lezar's
plans for Halliburton and his thoughts on sticking with oil and gas:
"The U.S. has a 200-year supply at current use levels,.....:

Interesting, seeing that the Army was quoted the other day as saying we could be running out of oil
by 2015.

12. They build the same things over and over because they get blown up.

So, there will be work for the Halliburtons and Bechetels of the world as long as Americans are in Iraq.

There is good reason why Rethugs are so hawkish. And, there is good reason why people who run companies like Blackwater and Bechtel support the Party that seems the most hawkish.

If you think about it, FDR lead us into WWII, Truman into Korea (with the very tip of a toe into Vietnam) and Kennedy and Johnson escalated Vietnam more than Ike did (though Nixon did his fair share.) However, Rethugs have always talked a big game. And they never met a "defense" spending bill they didn't like. And, "defense" spending is all the brass at companies like Blackwater and Halliburton really care about,.
