Wal-Mart Coughs Up Tens of Millions More Dollars To Settle A Suit By Workers
Source: Workers Independent News

Another day, another lawsuit settlement for Wal-Mart. Jesse Russell reports:

Workers alleging Wal-Mart owes vacation pay and other unpaid wages will be rewarded up to $86 million in a lawsuit settled this week. The settlement, agreed to by Wal-Mart, includes $74 million in unpaid wages and $12 million in owed vacation pay. The minimum Wal-Mart will pay is $43 million with the final number dependent on wages calculated by a third party. The final amount will be shared by 232,000 former workers in California. Even though it has agreed to the settlement, Wal-Mart does not agree with the allegation that workers are owed the wages.

2. What sucks is that amount won't hurt them at all.
$86 million to them is like a nickel to you and I.

I'd like to see a good team of lawyers fuck them out of maybe about $5 billion or so, but that's not likely to happen.

6. Wow! An Entire $150 Per Worker, Tops

After the class action firm takes its 40%, and the accounting firm takes its 10%, try dividing the max figure into 232,000 workers - and that's on the optimistic side.
