Melancon speaks out on oil spill

U.S. Senate candidate Charlie Melancon says the federal government must consider prosecuting officials from companies involved in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and government officials who may have disregarded offshore drilling regulations.

"We need to find out if there was malfeasance by people in agencies," said Melancon, a Democrat from Napoleonville and the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 3rd Congressional District.

"Was there intent by either the companies or government officials to allow this to happen without having the safeguards in place?" Melancon asked.

- No one is to blame anymore. For anything. And the only people that this administration seems to vigorously prosecute are the likes of Bernie Madoff and his ilk who steal from the rich, sick people and regular potheads who just want to be left the fuck alone to consume some herbs, or people who haven't done anything except being brown at the wrong time and ending up in Gitmo.
