Discovery of gasoline bomb forces evacuations in Jersey City
Source: nj.com

JERSEY CITY -- A 6 a.m. call about a potential gas leak to led to a major response by police and firefighters to a three-story building and the discovery of a gasoline can with an ignition device wired into it, this morning.

Officials arrived at 451 Palisade Avenue near Griffith Street to the report of gas fumes in a building. Firefighters found the source and PSE&G shut off the gas in the building, officials said.

Then officials found a gasoline can with an ignition device wired into it, causing Jersey City police to block off numerous roads and evacuate an entire city block, officials said.

JCPD's Emergency Medical Service's Bomb Squad is investigating the scene as crowds are gathered at the corners looking on.

1. Oh C-ap
This is my birthplace, and also home of one of the largest Muslim populations. I really hope nobody is planning anything stupid, whether it is a teabagger trying to stir up anti muslim lynchmobs, or a jihadist that forgot the part where Mohammed said "excess of religion cause the downfall of all those before."

2. You lost me with the Mohammad quote?
Was that sarcasm?

I was not aware that Mohammad warned of the excesses of religion...

9. YEAH RIGHT...
I am sure Mohammad was about respecting other cultures & boundaries and I am 110% Positive Mohamed would have been COOL with other religions...Islam is as big as it is for the same reason Christianity is as big as it is today...SHOWING RESPECT TOWARD OTHER CULTURES & THEIR RELIGIONS!

NEW AGE ISLAM?

That was funny just writing!

Now I know there are many Muslims who probably want to forget the past and redefine the Quran. Just like there are many Christians who want to forget the past and redefine the Bible...

I wish them luck on their mission. To me why bother you almost LYING by doing so...Why don't they just drop the Bronze Age Iron Age stuff for something modern like crystal worship or some other New Age Feel Good stuff?

Or just drop the super natural stuff??

Looks like old-school IRA-style bomb. Light fixture, door trigger, natural gas left on to fill the building, small incendiary explosion to set off the gas.

5. Could be mob, could be money owed, could be insurance fraud.
Big boom avoided, though. That's good.

7. "as crowds gathered...looking on"
If this had been a deliberate attack, being in a crowd looking on does not seem too bright.

Hmmm.."crowds" gathered....technically, how many is a crowd, I wonder.
And how many of a crowd does it take to make "crowds".
Could you have 2 crowds and several "groups"?

ok..back to making the coffee.
