Bush: Book begins with decision to quit drinking

George W. Bush said Tuesday that his upcoming book begins with an anecdote about his wife convincing him to give up drinking.

Bush said "Decision Points," due for release in November, opens with Laura Bush pushing the former president to decide whether he preferred drinking to fatherhood, and him questioning whether he loved booze more than his wife.

He said he realized he had an addictive personality and quit drinking cold turkey.

Bush said the book is less autobiography and more an analysis of key decisions in his life, both before and after he was elected president. Topics will include the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the troop surge in Iraq, his responses to terrorists attacks and Hurricane Katrina and the financial meltdown.

He said he hopes the book will be a tool for historians evaluating his presidency.

"I don't think you can come to a definitive conclusion about a presidency until the passage of time," Bush said. "I want to put you in my position."

All you had to do was take a look at him when he was giving a speech. Most of the time he looked like crap. With all the makeup and special lighting, they still couldn't conceal it.

I still think the two girls have someone else for a father. Bush has never done anything correctly in his whole life, I'm sure he didn't help conceive those girls.

Of course he never quit drinking, but those are his kids. The fake teacher one looks just like him.

I am have been clean and sober for 25 years come this October, I have worked with alcoholics, have a degree in chemical dependancy counseling, and from what I saw of Bush, he never stopped! If he did stop drinking he was on something else! The pictures in another post here make it pretty clear, along with all the "accidents" he had, that the man is nothing more than liar! I am sure it won't be the only lie in his book!

He simply quit one day, and a few years later he was President of the USA. Nice fantasy, would make a good children's story.

A autobiography about his partying days would probably be a lot more interesting, kinda like a chicken-fried "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".
