CNN's Ed Henry to Vote for Fox News to get Front Row Briefing Room Seat
Source: TVNewser

TVNewser has learned CNN White House correspondent and White House Correspondents Association officer Ed Henry will vote for Fox News to take over the front row White House briefing room seat vacated earlier this week with the abrupt resignation of Helen Thomas.

Henry is one of three officers on the WHCA, the others being Ed Chen of Bloomberg and David Jackson of USA Today. Other board members include Doug Mills of The New York Times, Steve Scully of C-SPAN, Don Gonyea of NPR, Julie Mason of the DC Examiner and Caren Bohan of Reuters.

CNN only got a front row seat after the renovations of the James S. Brady briefing room in 2007. CNN was awarded the seat due to seniority -- 27 years on the air at the time. We're told Fox News supported the move then. And now, as the #1 cable news network and almost 14 years on the air, this may be FNC's time.

9. Should probably be WSJ or USA Today
Those are the two most popular newspapers in the country by circulation. Better to use objective criteria than to get in a political-leanings pissing match where nobody will come out the winner.

13. interesting alignment
it kind of reads as an olde time alignment of media:

traditional networks and wire services up front, minimal "new media" representation.

7. I think the New York Times deserves it the most.
Besides, Faux isn't news, it's propaganda. They can make that up anywhere, they hardly need a front row seat. What they do is a disservice. (Actually, they should be sent to the back of the room, in the row with the Greater Hooterville Herald.)

17. Minor detail, Mr. Ed?
Fox is not a news station. It is a propaganda station. It does not report news, it tries to make it.

How much did you get offered to overlook that? ("A horse is a horse, of course, of course......")

Giving her seat to Faux News would be a travesty -- so I fully expect it will happen. I wish the seat would go to Talking Points Memo. I can dream.

28.  Thank you Robert Gibbs. And if anyone thinks the WH has nothing to do with this.
Guess again. If the dog and pony show protesting FOX is over, and FOX gets this seat, that speaks volumes. Seems what Helen siad wasn't the reson after all.
