Garland County election official resigns (Lincoln-Halter Primary)

Hooten filed the suit on behalf of residents Blake Robertson, Doug Jones and Ted Burhenn. He said the lawsuit wasn’t motivated by support for either campaign.

County election commission chairman Charles Tapp has said the decision to curb the number of polling places was made in March, well within the 30-day limit required by law. He said he regretted the decision to make the cut, but said the commission didn’t break the law.

He announced his resignation Wednesday from the commission, officials said. He didn’t give a reason for quitting.

The article also states that Halter won Garland by only 474 votes in May. In other words, it would not have swayed the election even if all 42 polling places were open due to the size of Lincoln's lead (my opinion). Bizarre story.

2. Watch him get a job as a lobbyist or at some right wing think tank

Somewhere where he will be rewarded for his voter suppression.

10. As is this guy

Conservatives on both sides of the aisle are welcome at right wing think tanks if they demonstrate a willingness to subvert the democratic process.

3. I'm not sure that is right, that Halter would have lost.
Because the impetus was with his defenders.

And as this individual well knows, it's not when you decide to make the change but when you notify the public that counts.

5. I think that they are saying that it is a mathematical impossibility to influence the
result because the total number of votes in the county is less than the difference between the two candidates.

4. It's not about how many people voted......
......it's about how many stayed away, or couldn't get there.

Well, now they have corporate hack Blanche Lincoln on the November ballot again, and let's see what damage to the Democratic brand they'll do, when neither Obama, Clinton, nor the other DC villagers will be enough to save her from defeat.

Once again, Dems prove to be their worst enemies.

Sorry, but this isn't the change I can believe in.

6. I'll bet he doesn't regret his decision
half as much as Halter does.

11. He didn't change his mind - he found out Arkansas has a law against early voting on Saturdays
or something like that. Seriously.
