GOP congressional candidate suggests US could mine Mexican Border

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The Republican nominee for a New Mexico congressional seat suggested during a radio interview that the United States could place land mines along the Mexican border to secure the international boundary.

Asked Monday to clarify, Tom Mullins emphasized that he does not advocate doing so.

Mullins says border security came up during a radio interview last month, when he was campaigning for the GOP nod to run against Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M.

In the May 18 interview with KNMX radio in Las Vegas, N.M., Mullins says the U.S. could mine the border, install barbed wire and post signs directing would-be border jumpers to cross legally at designated checkpoints.

In fact for years and years Republicans could not get NAFTA passed because Democrats stood fast on environmental concerns and labor practices.. Democrats wanted NAFTA to only apply to companies that abided by the same environmental and labor practices as the USA. Clinton was a lot like Obama in trying to please Republicans.. Hoping if he instituted some of their priorities they would work with him on his priorities. They Impeached his ass. Can you imagine what they want to do to Obama?

I swear, we should open up the borders wide, if for no other reason than to end the pathetic cycle of inbreeding that gives rise to people like Mullins.

He'd feel safe that way, no?

I grew up in Northern New Mexico and live Central New Mexico, and I can promise you this guy doesn't have a chance to win. Northern New Mexico is very liberal and Republicans won't win that district.

Make them live in tents and kill them if they try to leave on their own. Now, I know everyone screams bloody murder when you bring in a NAZI analogy. But?

Apparently some people don't think of it as an atrocity but more like a menu.

My husband lived there during the war. I know a lot about NAZI Germany, more than about 99% of Americans. So I would like to know what you mean and what you base it on.

God forbid they go after the employers that practically enslave the illegal immigrants. Let's mine our own land instead.

That anyone would think those parents and kids deserve to be executed or maimed by military mines is beyond sickening...

Then we can all have a celebration when it's pulled down. Because building mined, barbed-wired walls with guard towers kept people in/out so well before.
