Kerry Ends Vacation, Sets to Unite Party
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=694&u=/ap/20040324/ap_on_el_pr/kerry_22&printer=1

KETCHUM, Idaho - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry wrapped up his nearly weeklong vacation in Sun Valley on Wednesday and was flying back to Washington to accept a key union endorsement and rally former rival Howard Dean and other party leaders behind his candidacy.

...

The Democratic chiefs come together Thursday night to recognize Kerry as the new leader of the party and raise more than $10 million for the DNC's effort to defeat President Bush. Kerry will be joined by former Presidents Carter and Clinton, 2000 Democratic nominee Al Gore , Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe and all his primary rivals except Dennis Kucinich and Carol Moseley Braun.

---

Holy moly. How'd you like to be a fly on the wall when Kerry, Carter, Clinton, and Gore get together for a little chat?

And does anybody want to bet... Kerry planned this vacation around the 9/11 Commission testimony. Gets him out of the picture while something very big and very bad happens to Bush.

9. Return of the King
I want to see Bill Clinton in a prominent role in this election. I think the Dems did play their hand well so far, and I think we are on a long bumpy ride to the Presidency. I have seen nothing so far that gives me caution.

2. I think the vacation was a bad idea
We need to contrast against bush's laziness and perpetual vacation.

Another multimillionaire Yale graduate vacationing in Vale doesn't exactly set the right tone.

4. Intentional or unintentional I think it was brilliant to stay above the
fray this week. Since Rand Beers and Clarke are friends
I would imagine that they knew what was coming down the
pike this week.

5. What foot in what mouth??
Bush has vacationed more than any president in history- Kerry is not lazy like Bush- despite your suggestion, dont look for Kerry to repeat Bush's pathetic attendance record...

7. Oh, so we are quoting BS Bush ads now? Please!!!
Leaders have come out & expressed reservations about Bush- is that supposed to be a secret?

Kerry is asking why Bush sent troops off to war w/o armor in the 1st place- I'd like to know the answer to that too...

No Flip-flop- Kerry supported war as a last resort- he never lied about the WMDs- Bush did...

11. With the 9-11 commission shedding light on how out of touch
Bush and his cronies are, how they manipulate 'evidence' to produce wanted outcomes, and how they dodge legitimate questions in order to hide their treason....You're going to believe Chimpy's campaign adds? Give us all a break!

10. A week after campaigning so hard vs. a month before 9/11.
I don't think his vacation is an issue at all.

8. Love this unifying thread
Let's all make sure we're sitting around whining about the Republican conspiracy for another 4 years. For those who are in a perpetual state of gloom and doom, become Republican spies and whine on their boards. At least that'll do some good.

12. Enough of the negativism, let's energize!
I agree. I'm tired of the selfdefeatist tones in here. This is an election year, you have to be positive, dudes! "You gotta buck up, man, you can't go into the (election) with this negative attitude!"

Shut the f**k up, Donnies! :)
