At trial, Noriega claims Panama drug money a US-run ‘imaginary banking scheme’
Source: AFP

Panama's ex-dictator Manuel Noriega on Tuesday dismissed charges of laundering drug money as an "imaginary banking scheme" concocted by the United States as he took the stand in a French court.

The 76-year-old general denied taking payments from Colombian drug lords in the 1980s and told a Paris courtroom that cash deposits transferred to French banks came from his legitimate businesses and the CIA.

"I say with much humility and respect that this is an imaginary banking scheme," Noriega told the court in Spanish through his interpreter on the second day of his trial.

"I will have the opportunity to produce documents that show that I was a victim of a conspiracy mounted by the United States against me," he said.

1. It will be interesting if he comes up with any solid evidence, but
Noriega is as big a liar as any of the Reagan Ratpack he hung out with, and maybe not as smart--or at least, not as experienced in international triple-cross intrigue.

3. Subpeona Poppy Bush
Bet he can help explain those strange financial transactions. Frankly, I'm surprised that Noriega even survived the US invasion.

6. The Pineapple holed up in the Vatican Embassy...
...to escape Operation JUST CAUSE. Poppy was out to kill the guy. PSYOPS got him to finally leave by playing a few KISS tunes at full volume over and over. The Vatican legation asked him to please get out.

from there (although several years later). It was kind of creepy looking out my dining room window and seeing the compound.

4. Nothing about the entire Noriega saga ever made sense to me..
So many lies, so much corruption, so impossible to know who or what to believe on this whole score.... I'd like to see the truth come out, no matter who it muddies.

10. Hell, GHWB tried to assassinate Reagan
using a supporter's son (Hinckley)

The attempt rendered Reagan a basket case

But discreditting Noriega was all they had to do.

Remember the NY Post "voodoo" pics from Noriega's compiund?

Turns out it was probably just a paella he was eating for lunch (but the Post said it was "witchcraft".

GHWB was in charge after that assassination attempt and Reagan was just the boob tube cardboard cutout of a president puppeteered by the BushNazis.

The Bushes WANTED Reagan dead too.

The Panama Deception (1992)
1:31:10 - 3 years ago

The Panama Deception documents the untold story of the December 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama; the events which led to it; the excessive force used; the enormity of the death and destruction; and the devastating aftermath. The Panama Deception uncovers the real reasons for this internationally condemned attack, presenting a view of the invasion which widely differs from that portrayed by the U.S. media and exposes how the U.S. government and the mainstream media suppressed information about this foreign policy disaster. The Panama Deception includes never before seen footage of the invasion and its aftermath, as well as interviews with both invasion proponents like Gen. Maxwell Thurman, Panamanian President Endara and Pentagon spokesperson Pete Williams, and opponents like U.S. Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY.), Panamanian human rights workers Olga Mejia and Isabel Corro and former Panamanian diplomat Humberto Brown. Network news clips and media critics contribute to a staggering analysis of media control and self censorship relevant to any news coverage today, particularly during times of war. 14. Just saw "Blow", which has a scene where Panama banks "nationalized" the Escobar cartel deposits
I turned to my wife, and said, "That might explain why Bush, Sr. invaded and overthrew Noriega. No honor among thieves."

One has to wonder how many billions in deposits that Poppy and Co. may have lost in 1987, and it's interesting that the U.S. military intervention had to wait for Bush to become CIC.
