After 'death panel' furor, Ore. Rep. trying again
Source: Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Oregon Rep. Earl Blumenauer says he's going to reintroduce a bill on end-of-life consultations with doctors even though opposition from Sarah Palin and others last year made it an idea too hot to handle.

The bill would allow Medicare to pay doctors for voluntary counseling about end-of-life issues.

Palin falsely said in 2009 that the measure would create "death panels" to ration health care, and several prominent Republicans said the government should not be involved in people's end-of-life decisions.

Blumenauer's provision was dropped from the health reform bill that made it through Congress last year.

1. People should be able to live out their last days in peace and comfort

And not having to worry about medical bills and how much of a burden that they're going to leave loved ones.

End-of-life counseling is a noble service. K&R.

3. Conservatives are 100% wrong on this point.
Of course, they are 100% wrong on every point, but this one is really important. God has cursed America by sending $arah and her fellow wingnuts to bedevil and torment us. Why O Lord? WHY?

5. 2nd push to kill Granny!
When the right wing in this country lead by Sarah Palin started the "Death Panel" scare I laughed...Until I realized so many Americans bought into it! It was at this point I knew passing a real HCR Bill would be impossible!

The Right Wing in this country control the minds of so many that the Democrats can barely get started before the majority of Americans think everything they are trying to do is a Communist Plot to take over America!

This ability to convince so many of the most absurd things without a shred of proof is why I FEAR where America is headed! They GOP has successfully convinced America of so many lies like their Party supports the troops despite the failures of the Bush Admin & the GOP controlled congress to fully fund the VA after sending them off to two wars...Or that the GOP is fiscally responsible despite clear data that shows otherwise! I fault the press as well! If the MSM refuses to report the facts what other means do the Democrats have to get their message out to change minds?

America is headed for some really dark times! Because once the GOP has full control of the Government come 2012 and things to go south...The push won't be to vote out the GOP it will be to enact religious based policy in an effort to move America closer to GAWD!
