Examiner.comWest Virginia Democratic Governor Joe Manchin received approval from the states' Attorney General office on Jul that a special election can be held in November, to replace the seat of the late Senator Robert Byrd (Fr-D-WV). The approval allows for the Governor to temporary appoint a replacement to hold the seat until, the special election take place.
Governor Manchin stated that he wanted to know whether an election could take place this year or would have to wait until 2012, before he announced the appointment to take over Byrd's seat. It is now expected that the Governor, will appoint a interim Senator, with the next couple of days

Thank you Governor Manchin. Millions of unemployment job seekers are looking to get back into the workforce...but just need a leg UP to get there. The GOP on this issue is just plain WRONG and SHAMEFUL on blocking the benefits payments.
