White House corrects NASA’s Muslim comment

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Monday that NASA administrator Charles Bolden was wrong to claim that reaching out to the Muslim world was a top priority for the U.S. space agency.

Bolden raised eyebrows in the space community and outrage among conservative pundits by telling Al-Jazeera television recently President Barack Obama had instructed him to work for better outreach with the Muslim world.

He said Obama told him one of his top priorities was to "find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math and engineering."

Improving relations with the Muslim world was a top foreign policy priority for Obama on taking office last year, and he delivered a major speech on the topic in Cairo in June 2009.

seems to me that improving relations with any other nation or culture is, like, completely outside the budgetary concerns of NASA. The US has a significant budget for such things, the Dept of State is probably the most visible. NASA is high tech R&D funded by US tax dollars and the fruit of that R&D should be either sold for profit or used by the US to benefit all humanity.

When people are so filled with rage or hate or racism against others they fail to see the obvious. The Muslims claims have been that for 1500 years your false royal families and false churches have been worshiping false gods in the heavens instead of the actual lord most high. WAKE UP people.
