AFP - The head of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) said his group has killed French hostage Michel Germaneau, in an audio statement broadcast by Al-Jazeera on Sunday.

Al Qaeda's North African wing says it has killed French hostage (TV)
Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) said it had killed French hostage Michel Germaneau in an audio statement broadcast by Al-Jazeera TV on Sunday. French authorities say they have received "no confirmation" of the killing.

1. This just breaks my heart and infuriates me beyond belief. WTF
do they hope to accomplish by killing someone, other than being able to swing their dicks? Assholes. And even if it's not true, I still think they're assholes. :grr:

6. Do you mean take no prisoners? While I understand the
sentiment, as a practical matter, it's not good militarily. It tends to encourage others to fight to the death instead of surrendering. It also gives too much credit toward the notion that we have perfect knowledge. First reports are usually wrong.
