A former actress and reality TV show star stepped forward Sunday to say she is the contractor who filed a sexual harassment claim that led to the resignation of Hewlett-Packard Co. chief executive Mark Hurd.

"I was surprised and saddened that Mark Hurd lost his job over this. That was not my intention,'' Jodie Fisher said in a written statement released by her lawyer, Gloria Allred.

According to Allred, Fisher is a single mother "focused on raising her young son" and formerly worked on the House Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and and Control.

Allred also said Fisher has also appeared in several television shows and films, "some of which were R-Rated, when she was in her 30s." Most recently, she appeared on the NBC realty TV show "Age of Love."...

1. Gloria Allred is a disgusting, obvious media whore!

The fact that this Fisher woman would actually go out and retain Allred to be her attorney compels me to believe that Ms. Fisher is as guilty as sin and totally up to no good!

11. Add "lousy lawyer" to that description...
...she could not try her way out of a paper bag. And, yes, she is a publicity whore on top of it and an embarrassment to the profession.

6. Hurd was a piece of shit, who cost cut his way to stock holder happiness
by eliminating jobs here and hiring the cheapest labor the world over.

Just to be #1 in computer sales.

If I met him in person, I would risk jail to pound his ass.

7. I concur with your sentiment
as a former EDS'er and current HP'er if I were ever to meet Mark "the turd" Hurd in person I would go to jail. I found it unconscionable that the US employees were forced to take 4 pay cuts in 2009 all while HP was making huge profits and the executive board members were taking down 7 & 8 figure compensation packages. HP management was "gracious" enough to give us back one of our pay cuts in a one time only lump sum payment... bastards.

The only way I'm able to stick my middle finger to HP management is by cutting my hours accordingly. I don't feel one ounce of pity for Mark Hurd he gets what's coming to him unfortunately he will still collect a huge golden parachute. My only hope is that his wife gets a clue and takes his ass to the cleaners in a divorce settlement.

A wonderful collection of designers and engineers. Then FAILrina axed them all and moved the group to Taiwan.

140 people out on waivers so she could save a few bucks.

Piece of shit.

13. WHAT? Apple isn't a blip on HP's radar, OMG Google is your friend
Apple drops to 5th in US computer sales

Apple has sunk a full position in the US computer market during the spring, according to early estimates by IDC. The Mac producer is expected to have dropped from fourth place in the winter to fifth in the spring as it should have shipped 12.4 percent fewer computers than it did a year earlier, falling to 1.21 million Macs. Its market share is poised to remain the same at 7.6 percent but will have been eclipsed by Toshiba, which could jump over a full percentage point to ship 7.7 percent of PCs in the US.

Of the top five, the only other firm to lose market share is predicted to be Dell. If accurate, Dell would still have the lead with 26.3 percent of the market but will have shipped 18.9 percent fewer PCs than it did in spring 2008 and would have shipped just 40,000 more computers than HP at 4.17 million. HP's deliveries are still anticipated as being near flat at 2.3 percent growth from year to year, though the lack of change was enough for Dell to at least temporarily regain a lead it had lost in winter of this year.

Acer will have grown the quickest under these estimates, jumping exactly 51 percent to reach nearly 2.01 million PCs shipped and 12.6 percent of the American market.

15. I was just using Apple as an example of a company that uses foreign labor.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was just pointing out that Apple does unbelievably well, and part of the reason is that they do no manufacturing in the US. The American people sadly do not seem to have much interest in buying American.

5. You can stop at 'reality TV show star.' It's the world's second oldest profession.
And closely related to the first.

I'm looking at you, Sarah Palin.

10. Gold digger now goes public after extorting money
to make even more money with a book deal or a TV movie deal and she didn't even have to sleep with Mark Hurd to do this.

But, then again, Mark Hurd's judgment is very low as well.
