British Troops in Violent Clashes in Iraq
http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=2712354

<snip>Associated Press Television News footage showed Iraqis throwing stones at the troops and their vehicles.

At one stage, two soldiers struggled with an Iraqi man as he tried to grab one of their weapons.

During the clashes, a freelance photographer working for The Associated Press, Nabil al-Jourani, was wounded when he was shot in a leg with a rubber bullet by the soldiers.

Attempts to contact British forces controlling the region were not immediately successful.

2. A report on a Canadain channel this morning

Said the UK soldiers were attempting to remove some Iraqis illegally occupying a building. The attempted eviction brought on a rock throwing riot and they eventually bugged out of there without accomplishing their task. (Assuming this was the same incident)

12. Don't forget the Molotov cocktail attack last week, and the dramatic pic

British Army troops are covered in flames from a petrol bomb thrown during a violent protest by job seekers, who say they were promised employment in the security services, in the southern Iraq (news - web sites) city of Basra March 22, 2004. As the protest evolved into violence, demonstrators were heard to chant, 'Yes yes to Yassin, no no to America, Britain and Israel' in response to the killing in Gaza of Hamas founder and spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. 6. Bring the troops home, NOW
These incidents will increase as the US and the UK persist in maintaining our colonial occupation of Iraq. There is no point in staying in Iraq. Nothing we do can prevent the Shiites from their rightful claim to power, and all Iraqis from exercising their God-given sovereignty.

11. Yes CNN showed both cities plus a blown up car
they showed british troops with battons fending off
punches and kicks trying to get the battons away from
soldiers ... it looked pretty scary .

in bagdad they the crowd banging on a fence ,
it looked like a huge group of people .

the blown up car (not sure where) was an ambush
and 2 body guards were killed . but the dignitary
was unharmed .

9. They are fortunate that it was British troops, not US
.
.
.

"rubber bullets"

"wounded"

If it was the US they would have shot them dead

That's my opinion anyways . . .
