Bible.com investor sues company for lack of profit
Source: Yahoo

WILMINGTON, Delaware (Reuters) – A shareholder of Bible.com Inc sued the company's board members, accusing the ordained ministers of failing to profit from the "goldmine" potential of the namesake Internet property, according to a lawsuit.

James Solakian filed the lawsuit in Delaware's Chancery Court against the board of Bible.com for breaching their duty by refusing to sell the site or run the company in a profitable way.

The lawsuit cites a valuation done by a potential purchaser that estimated bible.com could be worth more than dictionary.com, which recently sold for more than $100 million.

and understand the risks involved with investing prior to making the investment?

Contrary to what some would believe, you are *NOT* entitled to profits from you investments.

12. correct, but a company cannot run a company with gross disregard for its investors
a company is not permitted to solicit funds under false pretenses, and it has a fiduciary responsibility to its shareholders to try to maximize their return.

a company is not required to be successful, and an investor has no recourse if the company raised its investments honestly and tried in good faith (no pun intended) to earn a profit. but a company cannot raise funds claiming an huge profit objective and then take actions that clearly go against that stated basis for raising funds.

whether the investor wins or not depends on the facts of the case. i wouldn't hold my breath, because this is a tough sort of thing to prove. a company can always claim they tried and are trying to make a big profit. they have to hope there are no damaging emails awaiting discovery....

13. for all we know the investor is an atheist, too.
i mean, the main reason christmas is so big and everywhere in america goes back primarily to a couple of jews, isidor and nathan straus, as owners of macy's. they only cared about the commercial opportunities.

then it's just a matter of a greedy moron who was out to make a buck of off other peoples beliefs.

I find that sick.

While I don't believe in an imaginary bearded guy in the sky, I don't disparage anyone else's belief system. Oh wait. LOL

21. Ad revenue would be the best bet
A couple of million page views per month could generate a decent amount of revenue from ads but by the looks of it all they have is a link to a donations page & a link to some books (bibles I assume).

22. Nah, he wants to cash out.
That's why there's the mention of selling "dictionary.com" for so much... they already have ongoing ad revenue, but he wants big bucks for the domain.
