5. I bet they cut funding for Health Care
They have no hope of repealing anything, The President will veto their silly abuses...
BUT. The House controls the purse strings.

If we can keep the senate, we can keep approving judicial appointments and presidential appointees.
The Supreme Court is a single appointment away from a Progressive majority...We NEED to keep the Senate!

9. That is actually the best piece of news - it'll be gridlock for the next 2 years and the voters will
have nobody to BLAME but the Thugs and remove them from majority once again in 2012, and extend our Senate hold for another 6 years.

36. Not necessarily. When they took control of the House in 94 they held it
for twelve years. If we have learned anything tonight, it's that predictions at DU are overly optimistic.

People could blame the Dems instead. Tricky business, and it will call for a VERY careful playing cards.

13. Expect a government shutdown over the next budget.
Republicans in the House will refuse to pass what Obama wants, and he will threaten to veto anything they pass. Who blinks?

44. well the repugs do have problems. they have promised to cut
spending, but what do you cut. cut entitlements and you're done, I know they will go after social programs, but really how much do they count against the budget. the repugs are between a rock and a bus full of looney toons.

they will try to explain to the teabaggers that they can't just cut everything, and the teabaggers will revolt.

funny stuff in the making.

dems just need to be ready to take advantage of the chaos.

28. Two more wasted years is not good news.

For bad news, I guess it beats Amending the Constitution to bring back Dubya for a third and fourth term, or accidentally sending nukes to al-Qaeda, but this country can't afford to throw away years like this.

30. Well, you don't know if it's going to be gridlock
The Democrats are very comfortable as shaking quaking rug-shitting belly-showing chihuahua lap dogs. They may actually, in the spirit of bipartisanship, decide to enable and facilitate everything the repukes are going to do. Good sports, you know.

I voted the full Dem ticket- I can vent if I want.

Speechless America has put back in power at least in the house a party that was two years removed from almost causing another great depression.. Those Bill Maher jokes about how dumb the American electorate rings true tonight. China and the special interest are the REAL winners tonight.

Senate appears safe, (except for that loose cannon Ron Paul), House races are a little different...plenty of time, and I think it won't come close to what they "declare".

21. No surprise
I expected to happen, as the economy is in a serious recession, and govts do not do anything about recessions. Even though people know that, they still vote against the party in power.

The GOP is even more incompetent than the Dems, so they will not be able to do anything.
