Boehner wants Bush tax cuts extended for all
Source: Reuters

Nov 3 (Reuters) - U.S. House of Representatives Republican leader John Boehner said on Wednesday that extending the Bush tax cuts for all income groups is the right policy.

Boehner, expected to become House speaker after Republicans took the House from the Democratic Party in Tuesday's elections, also told a news conference that he sees no problem working with Tea Party conservative members on Republicans' legislative priorities. 3. How does Boner expect to pay for it.*
*The last round of tax cuts added what; about 800 billion to the nation's debt?

That doesn't sound all that fiscally conservative.

19. Go further into debt with the "fiscally responsible" Repugs, that's how
It will cost something like $700 billion to give the top 2% their tax cuts.

6. Tax cuts for the rich = ZERO JOB GROWTH in 10 YEARS.
Amazing that no one at all is calling him on this.

It also makes me mad when certain people (OK, Jon Stewart) say that volume & hyperbole is the problem. It's not. It's called journalists (at least that's what they're supposed to be called) aren't doing their JOBS. Interviews are nothing but softball tosses. Republican politicians are never, EVER required to go into specific detail as to how their grandiose schemes will be carried out, unlike their Democratic counterparts.

It kind of makes me wonder if, given the research and knowledge on this site, journalists channelled us when asking Republicans questions would we even be plagued with people like Rand Paul and John BOH-ner?

9. Absolutely! GODDAMMIT!!! CALL THEM ON THIS!!!
Democrats are infuriating. They are proof positive of evolution due to the very amoeba-esque quality of their spines...frankly I am stunned that many of them can even stand fully erect for any length of time. Before yesterday's bloodbath many of them did not want to take a stand on taxes and tax rates and job growth in fear of the mid-terms....well THAT worked well.

The record of the Bush-era tax rates are demonstrably bad for jobs. Extending them further and creating an even LARGER deficit is as asinine as saying the first amendment does not provide for the separation of church and state. The myth that rich PEOPLE are the equivalent of "small" businesses and will "go out of business" if their tax rates go from 35 to 38% is un-fucking-real! CALL THEM ON IT!

Make the bastards take an actual stand and defend these policies beyond the platitudes. USE the bully pulpit to take this message directly to the people. MAKE them understand....COMMUNICATE TO THEM!!

Listening to President Obama right now though and I do not hear "fight" in his voice or tone or message...I hear "flight"...I am opening book on his announcement to not seek re-election at June 2011...anyone wanna go over-under on that?

They will expire before he becomes Speaker... no?

Just let 'em run out so the Repugs have to vote to reinstate them.... then it's all their fault again.

Obviously America is gonna have to hit rock bottom before the credulous wake up.

But don't worry! Gawd and prayer and the Chamber of Commerce is all we need to will save us all!

14. Absolutely. He figures he has Obama's measure and is taking
a hard first shot to confirm he's right. If Obama doesn't veto the extension of the highest income tax cuts (which I am positive he won't), Boner knows that he can just slam it to Obama for the next 2 years. Not a pretty picture.

22. Half of the Blue Dogs that were running are now gone, so I am anxious
to see if Obama will now take the opportunity and use the bully pulpit to educate the public on
how Boehner's ideas would play out for most Americans.

I am also waiting to see who Obama consults with for economic policy going forward...Joseph Stiglitz, Paul Krugman
or more of what he has already used since his election.

Will be an interesting two years.

35. Boehner - Have a Another Drink and Get out your Kleenex
Hey John Boehner - Have a Another Drink and Get out your Kleenex

Most drunks cry easy when they have had too many drinks. It's obvious that Boehner is an alcoholic. He has all the grandiose tendencies of an active alcoholic. Often, some drunks get quite emotional when they are intoxicated. I am afraid Boehner would suffer serious DT's if he tried to get sober at this point.

It'll expire, and a massive tax cut for the middle will be shoved from the senate to yours.

We have pictures, videos, and physical evidence, Boehner. I suggest that you accept the Senate bill for the massive tax cut for the middle class and the massive tax raise for the rich or everything will be aired in the media, whether or nto you like it.

The tax cuts expire automatically.

It requires positive legislation to extend them.

The Republicans do not have the numbers to over-ride a presidential veto.

How is giving them more going to create jobs? Supply-side simply does not work. Without demand, supply doesn't matter as it has no value.
