7 NATO troops die after attacks in Afghanistan
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Seven NATO troops died after attacks in Afghanistan on Sunday, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said.

Five troops died following an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan, ISAF said, though it did not provide details about the attack.

Another ISAF service member died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan, ISAF said Sunday, after earlier announcing the death of another servicemember in an IED attack in the southern part of the country.

It was not clear whether those two troops died as a result of the same attack.

I'm in a pretty cynical mood today. Weather is bad. Malady is acting up.

What will 'teh chimp' do about it?

3. Saigon is pointing at historical origins of the situation, not future actions or strategies.
He does not think "teh Chimp" can do squat about it. It is always worthwhile to remember how you got into a situation, and it is always worthwhile to remind the public of who the perps are.

4. At least they weren't our troops
At least that is the subliminal message. It isn't just US casualties, it's NATO casualties. They give their young to die if we promise to keep military bases and new "defense" spending in their countries. Think of all that profligate spending they gain! It's the new and improved worldwide NATO!
