Surprised that it was on Fox where I read this, but positive news no matter how you look at it.

3. Did anyone else catch this tidbit?
If you go to the FoxNews site, and go to the above referenced article off the main page, the title of the link is "Troops RESIST Ban On Gays in Military", even though the link contains a story of support. I hope I am not the only person that caught this.

8. Actually, I think that phrasing was a deliberate attempt to make it sound
Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 11:17 PM by tblue37
as though the troops were resisting allowing gays to serve openly in the military, not resisting the ban. Your misreading was probably a very common one that the headline writer intended to happen.

7. There is no ban on gays serving (or dying) in the military, only a ban on gay troops being honest

about how God made them (or, if you prefer, about who they were born to be).

Makes it impossible for gays to live up to the supposed Army ideal of integrity, but what the hell. Gays should be used to being in impossible situations. (:sarcasm:, for tose who need the emote)

6. This is an utter failure of leadership
75% of the American people. 70% of the actual military. This should be a slam dunk. Pres. Obama needs to lead his fucking party and get this done.
