AHNBrussels, Belgium (AHN) - The European Union has disclosed that Iran is ready to start fresh talks on its controversial nuclear program. EU Foreign Policy Chief Baroness Ashton, said that the talks would take place in Geneva on December 6-7.
Ashton added that the Iran was meeting with world powers for high-level direct talks on its nuclear issue for the first time since last October.
Ashton's office said that EU's foreign policy chief would lead the delegation of five United Nations Security Council permanent members and Germany. Chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili will represent the Iranian side.
"We've now received a response from the Iranian authorities in which they have said that Dr Jalili has accepted Catherine Ashton's proposal to meet in Geneva", an EU spokesman said on Tuesday.
