Pentagon delays U.S. troops' trip home
WASHINGTON — A decision by the Pentagon to increase the number of U.S. troops in Iraq is a reversal of its plan to steadily reduce the U.S. force level there.
Since the war began a year ago, senior military leaders have given frequent assurances to troops and their families that Iraq duty would be no longer than a year.

Now, those assurances have met the reality of Iraq, where military leaders are planning for the possibility that anti-U.S. violence will spread. U.S. troops are stretched thin around the world, and the Pentagon has few options to increase the force in Iraq if necessary.

On Monday, a senior official with U.S. Central Command said that the return home of about 24,000 U.S. troops who were scheduled to leave in the next few weeks would be delayed as their replacements arrive. Central Command's responsibility includes the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

8. I support you 100%,
but please try to stay positive. You cannot control what is happening over there so try your best to keep a positive attitude. I have seen many of your posts and realize that you have an enormous amount of fear and anger and pent up anxiety and that DU is probably your only ventilation. I just want to say that it is impossible for me to know what you are going through, but I still must say that I believe that you can withstand this hardship without alienating those that might support you. You must.

Your son will come home. You must try to find a way to believe that.

Please be logical and firm and polite in your protest. Outside of the DU people are questioning what is going on too, but are more reserved in their assesment, for whatever reason, but questioning nonetheless.

I apologize if I seem superficial or condescending.

Have you started your garden yet? Spring is upon us.

4. You can't imagine how pissed off those troops are now!
Actually, you probably can. This 11th hour switch in their orders will upset them and their families bigtime. Kerry just picked up a few more votes.

It's time to get out and transfer all oversight to the U.N. But chimpy will allow further bloodshed for the sake of his campaign.

This Iraqi-ization is doomed to failure just like Vietnamization.

5. That's gotta be good for morale -- NOT! (draft is on the way)

April 2005 -- As part of his program to eliminate the unemployment problem in the US, Bush* signed the recreation of the Selective Service bill, today. This is part of a two pronged attack on poverty. Most of the draftees will be sent to Iraq to be blown up by Suicide bombers in the Bush* program to protect US soil from terrorism by sending human sacrifices to the terrorists.

Most of the draftees will be coming from the "Blue" states in another project to assure first brother Jeb wins the Presidency in 2008.

7. Same here
my nephew at first was given the choice to come home this month on leave for two weeks, only a month after he got there. Now they are saying May. I told him did you ask what YEAR? I thought it was awfully quick to take leave so soom, but he told me that all other months were taken. I told him he best not get too excited to come home anytime soon.

Not sure when my other nephew is coming...Now, those news reports make me ill every damn time, because he cant tell us exactly where in Iraq he is. He was supposed to be a tanker, but is now an MP. I have NO idea what that entails as far as his safety, nor for his brother or dad. This sux soo bad.
