Ukrainian soldier killed, five wounded in Iraq

KIEV (AFP) - A Ukrainian soldier was killed and five others wounded in fighting with supporters of radical Shiite Muslim cleric Moqtada Sadr in the city of Kut, south of the capital Baghdad.

The soldier, the first Ukrainian serviceman to be killed in combat in Iraq (news - web sites), died from his injuries after being hit by a grenade during fighting for control of a bridge, the defence ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

The lives of the other five soldiers are not in danger, it added.

Sadr's militia seized control of Kut, 180 kilometres (110 miles) south of Baghdad, over the weekend from Ukrainian troops, an Iraqi civil defense officer who witnessed it told AFP.

do they? Almost suggests planning, intelligence,

Not only have the neo-liberal Ukrainians sold their nation to the highest bidder and turned the made it a third world country from its once proud status, but they are now responsible for this death in an unjust war.
