Ben Ali: Tunisia issues arrest warrant for ex-leader
Source: BBC

Tunisia has issued an international arrest warrant for ousted President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali and his family, the nation's justice minister has said.

Lazhar Karoui Chebbi said Tunisia had asked Interpol to detain Mr Ben Ali, who fled to Saudi Arabia earlier this month amid mass street protests.

2. I hope Interpol are as efficient executing a warrant for a brutal,
thieving, torturing dictator as they were with Julian Assange who they landed in jail, but who has yet to be charged with anything.

I think Interpol, like Visa, Mastercard and Paypal lost their credibility in the Assange affair.

However, I am very glad to see that Tunisia doesn't intend to 'look forward' when it comes to Government Officials who commit crimes against humanity.

I hope Egypt's Mubarak will be treated the same way, held accountable for torture and other human rights abuses not to mention theft.

3. "property theft and transferring foreign currency"
Sidestepping the unfortunate matter of a couple decades of rape and torture at the behest and for the benefit of the US, France, and Israel? Perhaps even assisted in doing so by many current ministers in the Tunisian government du jeur.. Oh well, baby steps, I suppose.
